Bently Nevada Introduces the 3500/22M Transient Data Interface (TDI), Enhancing Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic Capabilities

3500/22M Transient Data Interface (TDI) for its industry-leading 3500 Machinery Monitoring System. This module is designed to serve as a high-performance bridge between the 3500 system and compatible software, including System 1® condition monitoring and diagnostic software and 3500 System Configuration software, significantly enhancing data acquisition and communication capabilities.

The 3500/22M TDI is an integrated solution that combines the functionality of a 3500/20 Rack Interface Module with the powerful data collection capabilities of a communication processor, such as TDXnet. Installed in the dedicated slot adjacent to the power supplies of a 3500 rack, the module works seamlessly with M-Series monitors to continuously collect steady-state and transient dynamic waveform data. This data is efficiently transmitted to host software via an Ethernet link, providing critical decision-support for plant operations teams.

A core advantage of this TDI is its enhanced data capture capability. While static data capture is standard, an optional Channel Enabling Disk unlocks the ability to capture dynamic and high-resolution transient data. This provides richer, more detailed machine health information, creating a solid data foundation for predictive maintenance and advanced diagnostics.

Critically, the 3500/22M TDI is designed with a paramount focus on safety. Although it provides essential communication and processing functions for the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path. Its operation has no effect on the proper functioning of the 3500 system's machinery protection functions, ensuring absolute reliability and integrity of the automatic protection system.

Key Features and Benefits:

Integrated Design: Combines rack interface and communication processor functionality in a single module, simplifying system architecture.

Comprehensive Data Acquisition: Enables continuous collection of steady-state, transient waveform, and high-resolution data for deeper machine insight.

High-Speed Ethernet Communication: Facilitates fast data exchange with System 1 software via a standard Ethernet link for easy integration.

Proven System Safety & Reliability: Operates independently from the critical protection path, ensuring monitoring system security remains uncompromised.

Rack Requirement: One TDI or RIM module is required per 3500 rack, making it a standard system component.

The introduction of the 3500/22M TDI further strengthens the position of the Bently Nevada 3500 Series as the industry benchmark machinery protection system. It provides customers with more powerful data-driven diagnostic tools to improve asset reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and prevent unplanned downtime.
